BarCamp Nashville Ends

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

It was a long, but fantastic day. A great coming together of minds and ideas. Others will be able to sum it up better than I, but I will say that of what I saw, David Owens really took it to another level with some thought-provoking questions of beauty and attraction.

I met some great folks, had some big laughs, and worked pretty hard, too. Sleep now, maybe more on the day in the morning.

BarCamp Nashville Begins

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

I arrive at 7:30 am and started the setup for BarCamp. Now, the first speaker is on stage. It was fun morning.

Jessica and I had quite the adventure picking up the coffee. Someone decided to send the two people who know where nothing is in Nashville to pick up coffee and all the accouterments. We nearly spilled about 30 gallons of coffee into the middle of Broadway.

Go, Go, BarCamp Nashville

Saturday, July 7th, 2007

Dave gave me an update about some things going on behind the scenes at BarCamp Nashville. It’s very exciting.

There’s lots of interest from people in interesting places in the technology nebula. He’s working on some great guest speakers and some really cool sponsors. In addition, Dean is making sure we have some rocking live music to entertain us.

Our next meetup looks to have about double the people involved and that’s just folks wanting to help organize the thing. That bodes well for actual attendance. I hope you’ll consider joining us. I’ll try to keep this blog up to date with the latest news, unless Dave tries to suppress my fourth estate freedoms :)

Barcamp Nashville Is Go

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I just got home from the first official organizational meeting of Barcamp Nashville. There are a great bunch of people getting involved and it’s sizing up to be a great time. I’m looking forward to lots of learning and new ideas. You can register for Barcamp Nashville or get more details on Barcamp Nashville here.

I’m mulling over whether or not I might try to present something. I have 2 or 3 topics in mind that I might could develop into a cogent presentation. At any rate, it will be a great challenge for me on the organizational and networking side. I’m not, naturally, the most organized or socially adept person in the world.
